Second Place = Steak Knives

If you’ve ever seen Glengarry Glen Ross before, you’re probably well-aware that it’s one of Alec Baldwin’s greatest performances. One scene, in particular, stands out to many business/sales/entrepreneur types – the concept that there is no “second” place.
First place … a Cadillac Eldorado. Second place … a set of steak knives. Third place …
YOU’RE FIRED. Classic.
Living the Scene
Here at Mahalo, we don’t believe in second place. We’re not satisfied with steak knives – we’re after that dang Cadillac every day, in everything we do. As a constant reminder of this, there is actually a plaque permanently adorned with a set of steak knives (seriously) that rotates around the office on a regular basis. For those that see it as a distraction, they are likely content with the contents of the box itself. But for those that understand the concept behind the constant reminder, we are all the more motivated to #crushit.
