Giving Credit to the Experts at Mahalo

I’m pretty stoked about some of the big changes going down over at Mahalo.com. In a nutshell, we’re trying to be your one-stop destination on the web to “Learn Anything”. Whether you’re peeking around for a video on how to play the lead guitar part on MJ’s “Thriller”, wondering how to say “I love you” in Russian, or scratching your head at how to convert fractions to decimals – we want to provide you with the best possible answer to your problem.
What’s the best way to help people?
How do we give you the best possible answer? By hiring the best possible teachers. Many of articles written on the web are penned by unnamed hands and unseens faces. The words are pulled from sources uncredited, and inexperience runs rampant through the streets known as online content. But over at Mahalo, we’re busy hosting auditions, vetting our instructors, and even putting our screencasts online so users can vote on their favorite (potential) hosts. No, scratch that … educators.
Let’s give a little love to the experts
To prove to the world that Mahalo is currently writing and developing some of the best content on the web, we’re going to start unrolling new sections on our site where visitors can “Meet our Experts”. Here, smack in the top-right section of the screen, you’ll get to know more about who is hosting the videos and providing the basis for the helpful information on Mahalo pages. Their experience and enthusiasm for their subject matter will be clearly visible for the world to see.
Beyond just bragging about the skills and background of our credentialed hosts, we’re going a step farther and giving our hosts the chance to “pimp” their own links and information within this profile box. Have a website? We’ll link to it. Want to grab a few more Twitter followers? We can put that in there for ya. (side note: If you live in the Los Angeles area and fancy yourself an expert on something you can’t help but talk about, don’t hesitate to drop me a line and I’ll forward your information to our casting department).
